Yarners, etc! are excited to announce the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
Shawls which we create will be given to those in need of extra care.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Prior experience in knitting or crocheting is helpful but not necessary.We will show you if you need to learn how to make one.
We will knit or crochet shawls of all sizes in many colors for women, men, or children in need.
We meet on Sundays at the Yarners, etc. table in the fellowship hall after service, or
on 2nd & 4th Thursdays in the Wesley Room at church (6-8pm)
How can you help:
Pray for this new ministry;
Donate yarns that you have but no longer need;
Donate money to purchase yarns for shawls;
Knit or crochet shawls;
Help bless shawls with prayers during designated worship services;
Let Pastor Neill know when your or someone can use a shawl.
For more details about Prayer Shawl Ministry, please contact Yarners, etc. via the church office (973) 538 – 2132 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Shawls ...made for centuries universal and embracing,
symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God.
They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother,
hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received
these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed,
as if given wings to fly above their troubles…”
Janet Bristow (1998)
