Senior Pastor - Dr. Neill Tolboom
So who is the new pastor? In the United Methodist system that is an often asked question. Well, I'm a Christian, a father, a husband, a teacher, a student, a coach, an optimist, and an enthusiastic person. I was born in London, Ontario, Canada to a farm boy turned fur trader and a farm girl turned novelist. My first years were spent in the high Artic but my formularize years were spent in Winnipeg. My time in Winnipeg culminated with marrying my next door neighbor and youngest sister's best friend, my wife of thirty years, Deb. The next thirty years have involved moving to Toronto, auditing investment banks throughout the world, having a son, moving to the United States, building an investment bank in Manhattan, receiving a call from God, going back to school, being ordained and finding joy in my new vocation. My wife Deb has been a registered nurse and is now a professor of funeral services and a certified counselor. My son is twenty six, has his own house in Trenton (although our basement is still full of his stuff) and teaches high school physics. I am enrolled in the PhD program in Organizational Management at Rutgers Newark and, God willing, I will complete my dissertation in next three years. My long term goal is to teach management at a seminary. Although I will miss the good people at Hightstown UMC, I am thrilled to be your new pastor. The opportunities here are endless. If we keep our eyes on Christ and pull together nothing is impossible with God. My favorite scripture? Micah 6:8 Contact me at ntolboom@morristownumc.com or call the Church at 973-538-2132
