Dear Morristown United Methodist Church —

Hi, it’s me, Sarah Michal, and I’m honored to have served as your Director of Music Ministries since 2016. I love making music, connecting with others, and praising our great God. Many working musicians are forced to choose one focus in their careers (teaching one age group, performing one style, etc), but I feel very lucky: I get to work with musicians and learners of all ages and abilities! I also serve as Artistic Director for the Music@MUMC concert series and, most importantly, work closely with the Senior Pastor to create meaningful worship experiences for all who attend our services.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Fresno Pacific University and a Master of Music in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College. I am the Artistic Director of the New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus and have been a member of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir since its founding. My husband, Dr. Matthew Michal, and I have been married since 2011 and owned by our tabby, Alexander Hamilton, since 2016.
